What we offer
Financial analysis and restructuring
We pull apart your financial statements line by line and rebuild the picture so you can see exactly where money comes in, where it leaks out, and which parts of the business earn their keep.
A typical engagement includes:
- Review of 12 months of profit-and-loss data, balance sheets and cash-flow statements
- Identification of cost lines that have grown faster than revenue
- Pricing analysis: are your margins holding across all products, or are some lines dragging the average down?
- Cash-flow forecast for the next two quarters with scenario modelling
Duration: three to five weeks. Deliverable: a financial health report with a prioritised action list. We schedule a half-day workshop with your leadership team to walk through the findings and agree on next steps.
Operational improvement
Most inefficiency hides in the gaps between departments. Sales promises a delivery date. Operations discovers it cannot meet that date because procurement ordered materials late. Nobody realises the problem is systemic until it happens a dozen times.
We map your workflows from order intake to final delivery, interview the people who do the work (not just the managers), and identify where handoffs break down. Then we redesign the process and test it in a controlled pilot before rolling it out.
Included in this service:
- End-to-end process mapping using interviews and direct observation
- Bottleneck identification with time-in-stage analysis
- Redesigned workflow documentation your team can follow without us
- A four-week pilot with weekly check-ins to measure the change
Duration: five to eight weeks. This is our most hands-on service. Expect our consultant to spend two to three days a week on-site during the first half of the engagement.
Growth and market strategy
You are considering a new product, a new region or a new customer segment. The question is whether the opportunity justifies the investment. We build the business case so you can decide based on evidence rather than instinct alone.
This service covers:
- Market sizing: how large is the opportunity in revenue terms, and what share can you realistically capture in year one?
- Competitive landscape: who else operates in this space, what do they charge, and where are the gaps?
- Go-to-market plan: pricing, channel selection, initial marketing budget and a 12-month revenue projection
- Risk register: what could go wrong, how likely is it, and what would you do about it?
Duration: four to six weeks. Deliverable: a strategy document with financial projections and a decision-ready recommendation. If you decide to go ahead, we can stay on for the first quarter of execution as an advisory retainer.
Change management support
A good plan fails when the people who have to carry it out do not understand it, do not trust it, or were never asked for input. We have seen this happen with technology rollouts, restructurings and post-acquisition integrations alike.
Our change management support includes:
- Stakeholder mapping: who is affected, who has influence, and who is likely to resist?
- Communication planning: what to say, when to say it, and through which channels
- Training design: short, practical sessions that teach people the new way of working
- Progress tracking: weekly pulse surveys to catch problems before they become crises
Duration: varies by scope, typically eight to twelve weeks running alongside the change itself. We work as an extension of your leadership team during this period.
How a typical engagement works
Every project follows the same four-stage structure, regardless of which service you choose. This keeps things predictable for both sides.
Discovery call
A 30-minute phone or video call where you describe the problem and we ask questions. No charge, no obligation. By the end we both know whether this is a fit.
Scoping and proposal
We write a one-page proposal that defines the problem, the approach, the timeline and the fixed fee. You review it, ask questions, and sign when you are ready.
Diagnostic and delivery
We do the work: interviews, data analysis, process mapping, modelling. You receive a progress update every week. The final report includes an action plan with named owners and deadlines.
Implementation check-in
Sixty days after the project ends, we schedule a follow-up call to see how the recommendations are landing. If something is stuck, we help you troubleshoot at no extra cost.
Fees and next steps
We quote a fixed fee for every engagement. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices. The fee depends on the scope and duration of the project, but here are typical ranges to give you a sense:
Financial analysis: £3,500 – £7,000 depending on the complexity of your accounts and the number of business units involved.
Operational improvement: £6,000 – £12,000 reflecting the on-site time required for observation and piloting.
Growth strategy: £4,500 – £9,000 depending on the number of markets or segments being evaluated.
Change management: £5,000 – £15,000 depending on the size of the affected team and the duration of the change programme.
VAT is charged at the standard UK rate. Travel expenses within Scotland are included; travel elsewhere in the UK is billed at cost.
If you are not sure which service you need, that is fine. Start with the discovery call and we will help you figure it out.
